4 healthy ways to start your day

My mornings were an absolute wreck before taking the time to formulate a healthier approach to starting my day. Ironically, I am a morning person so you'd think things would flow a little easier for me; they never did. I would wake up shower, rush to find clothes, skip breakfast, toss my hair in a bun, sit on the edge of my bed for a few minutes to daydream, then head out for the day. My mornings weren't formative, which didn't allow me to be as productive as I could've been through out the day. Here's 4 ways I've added substance to my mornings! Now I feel so much better in the morning, I'm happier and I'm able to cross more off of my daily agenda. I hope that these tips can help you too!

1.Pray/Meditate

Starting your day with a quick prayer helps center you. Giving God honor and showing gratitude for his goodness is an awesome way to bring peace into your day. Add meditation, breathing techniques, a few yoga moves and your day is off to a calm, relaxed and spiritually fed start.

2. Lay out your OOTD

OOTD, outfit of the day! Although this step is done the night prior I feel it will enhance your morning greatly! The last thing you'll want to worry about is ironing and what you and the kids are wearing. Wheewh!!

3. Map out your day (this should be done the night prior also)

If there's any important tasks on your agenda, take care of them according to time and distance. That will keep you from burning excess gas and help cut down on frustration. That's never a fun way to start your day. Scratching tasks off of your TO DO list is a great start!

4. Wake up with a smile!

Most of all, to set the tone for the day, wake up with a smile, gratitude and great expectations. Keep in mind that we attract what we put out. Knowing our children feed off our energy is all of the motivation we need to put on a smile! :) Positive attracts positive and negative attracts negative!

  4. These four tips are great. I am morning person too, but the rush to get ready and get kids ready somehow takes away the ease of the morning. I absolutely love that your first tip is to pray. God is important in our lives so I make sure He is first in the mornings so that our day goes smoothly.

  11. Such a great list! I really try to start each morning in prayer and devotion, but I am so bad about waiting until the last minute and having to rush out the door. Then I feel like the day is just so frantic. Having that time to sit, be still and wake up with a plan is so important!
